Acne Spots

Acne spots can sometimes be embarrassing and may have a big impact on your self-esteem as well as on your self-confidence. Knowing how to minimize acne breakouts can help you avoid these spots in your face. Minimizing acne breakouts or completely keeping the condition at bay may involve several things. You have to keep your skin clean because this protects it from irritation. Cleaning is critical especially when your skin is prone to acne.

When cleaning, avoid scrubbers that contain large bits of exfoliates because they may cause abrasions on your skin. You are instead advised to go for scrubbers that are meant for sensitive skin. Using a scrubber, rub lightly before rinsing with cool water. Acne spots can also be as a result of popping a pimple either at the wrong time or at the wrong stage.


Although a pimple that is swollen and angrily staring at the world from the center of your forehead is not a scene to behold, popping it can sometimes make it worse. Pop it only when it is very inflamed and the pus can be seen below the skin. To pop it, hold a very warm cloth on the pimple for a few minutes, this helps to open the pores. Gently pop the pimple and be careful not to irritate the area by squeezing too hard.

Since popping a pimple has the potential to leave acne spots, there are other ways through which you can get rid of a pimple. Applying calamine lotion on either pimples or zits before you go to bed can reduce the pain and the itching sensation and this can help to dry them. You can also mix a bit of baking soda with water and apply on the pimple.
